2024/2025 Decathlon: Event Summary: Horse Racing

RULES: HORSE RACING
| Racing is the 3 legs of the Triple Crown: The Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. Q1: Kentucky Derby The women wear fancy hats and the drink of choice is a $17 mint julep that makes your stadium bud light look like a good deal. 20 horses are available and seeded. Choose 5 horses which add up to no more than 25 seed points. For example, you could choose horses with seed values of 11-11-1-1-1 (25 pts) or 11-7-3-1-1 (23 pts), but not horses with seed values of 7-7-7-3-3 (27 pts). You are responsible for knowing which horses are scratched from the race. Seeds are based off the initial odds posted here Picks will stay open until just before post time Points: 1st place... 100 points 2nd place... 80 points 3rd place... 65 points 4th place... 50 points 5th place... 40 points 6th place... 25 points 7th thru 10th place... 10 points 11th place or worse... 0 points Q2: Preakness Nobody really knows where Pimlico is, altho it sounds like maybe there's a wormhole in Maryland just off Hwy83 that dumps you into New Jersey. Choose 3 horses which add up to 7 or fewer seed points. There are just 9 horses are racing, so you get a full third of the field. Note that only the top 7 finishers will earn points (not the top 10) You are responsible for knowing which horses are scratched from the race. Choose 4 horses which add up to 14 or fewer seed points. There are just 9 horses are racing, so you get a full third of the field. Note that only the top 8 finishers will earn points. You are responsible for knowing which horses are scratched from the race.
