RULES: HORSE RACING

Horse Racing is the 3 legs of the Triple Crown: The Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. We'll pick before each race.

Q1: Kentucky Derby
The women wear fancy hats and the drink of choice is a $17 mint julep that makes your SEC stadium bud light look like a good deal. 20 horses are available and seeded. Choose 5 horses which add up to no more than 18 seed points. For example, you could choose horses with seed values of 7-5-5-1-0 (18 pts) or 7-5-3-1-1 (17 pts), but not horses with seed values of 7-7-3-1-1 (19 pts). You are responsible for knowing which horses are scratched from the race. Seeds are based roughly off the early odds posted here

Picks will stay open until just before post time; Sat 5/6 3:30p Pacific. Any attempts to enter picks after this deadline will result in a severe decathlon penalty.

Q2: Preakness
Nobody really knows where Pimlico is, altho it sounds like maybe there's a wormhole in Maryland just off Hwy83 that dumps you into New Jersey.

Choose 3 horses which add up to 8 or fewer seed points. There are 10 horses are racing, so you get nearly a third of the field. Note that only the top 8 finishers will earn points. You are responsible for knowing which horses are scratched from the race. Seeds are based off the initial odds posted here
